Vision
Our vision as a church is to be A Church in the World.
A Church
We are not "the" church in our city, but we are "A" church in our Y, in our city, and in our world. Since we are not the only church around, we hope to come alongside other churches in the city to share our hope in Jesus Christ with the world. In the New Testament, the church was not a building, but the people inside who had gathered together to worship Jesus. The Fields Church was planted in hopes of gathering together to be sent out as a church to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:18-20).
In the World
Jesus says in Matthew 13:38, “The field is the world and the good seed are the sons of the kingdom.” As followers of Jesus, sons of the kingdom, we are to be in the world but not of the world (John 17:14-18). At the same time, the world is in need of reconciliation. So, it's our hope and prayer to be a church that lives out our Christian faith in the world so that many more will come to faith in Jesus Christ. One small way we are aiming to be in the world is by gathering and serving at the Y. (Why the Y?)
