We will be going back to Latvia this summer for another youth discipleship camp after a 2 year hiatus due to covid!  Would you take a moment to pray about and consider coming with us, praying for us, or financially helping us show the love of Christ to these students in Latvia.

Adults and students 16 & older (13+ with parent) are open to join us on this trip.  This is a great first mission trip to experience what it is like to take the gospel to a part of the world that, for the most part, has less access to the gospel.  Latvia has some of the most beautiful churches in the world, but unfortunately many of them are tourist sites, not gathering places for the people of God.  However, God is moving and has always been at work in Latvia, especially in the city of Talsi since the fall of communism in 1991.

We will be putting on a Student Discipleship Camp called Seko Man (@SekoManLV), which means Follow Me, for teens & 20’s that come from all across Latvia.  You would be responsible for leading/co-leading a small group, building relationships with students throughout the week, and pointing them to Jesus in word and deed.  You will eat with them, travel the city with them, play games with them, do skits with them, talk with them one on one, answer questions, but simply share and show them Jesus, and trust me, they need HIM!  You will likely have the opportunity to walk some of them into a relationship with Christ!  A few of us will be leading some large group teaching sessions and there will be discussion immediately after each one.  If you have a passion for being a part of a gospel centered discipleship movement in Latvia, this is for you!

We will be flying to Riga Latvia, the capital, and spending a day there.  We will then make our way to Talsi, a small city in the western half of Latvia.  Inguna Gruznina started a Christian School in Talsi in 1995 with just 30 students.  They now have 240+ and Talsi Christian School is having a huge impact on their city and country and has become a Gospel sending organization that is truly impacting Latvia with the Gospel.

The Latvia trip will be July 11-21, 2022.  Here is a tentative itinerary for our trip.

  • Depart DFW - July 11
  • Arrive in Riga, Latvia - July 12
  • Sights & Travel to Talsi - July 13
  • Camp Prep - July 14
  • Camp - July 15-19
  • Travel to Riga - July 20
  • Depart Riga, Latvia - July 21
  • Arrive at DFW - July 21

The trip will cost around $1,500.  The main cost of this trip is the airfare, 2 nights at a hotel, local transportation, and camp expenses.  While we are at the camp our accommodations and food are all taken care of, but you will be responsible for your own travel meals and souvenirs.

This is all about fulfilling the Great Commission.  This is an intentional consistent partnership with Talsi Christian School that we hope will bring about change in the lives of many students.  One of the neatest things about this partnership is that we are coming alongside a Latvian ministry to help them reach there own community and disciple the next generation.  When we leave, they still have people on the ground who will continue the work long after we are gone.  In fact, one of our main goals is strengthening those young believers to become disciple makers themselves.

You can help in several different ways, but the first is by going to camp.  We know it wouldn’t be without great sacrifice, but we believe this sacrifice is absolutely worth it!

Another way you can help is by beginning to pray for this trip now and while we are in Latvia.  If we just go without God’s blessing and help along the way, it won’t be worth it.  We need faithful prayer warriors who will ask God to do what only he can in our lives and the lives of these students.

Thirdly you can give financially to help others who are raising support to make this trip possible.  Sometimes people are willing and able to go, but they need partners to help them get there.

Would you consider filling one of these 3 very important roles in making this trip possible.  Please let us know if you have any questions or if you would like to be involved in some way! We love you and are grateful God has allowed us to BE the CHURCH together!
