Psalm 119

We are beginning a new series Summer 2024 through Psalm 119! We would love for you to join us Sunday mornings at 10am to walk in the truth of God's Word.

psalm119 title slidePsalm 119 is a unique chapter of Psalms for a number of reasons. No author or context is given. It's right in the middle of the Bible, between the sections of psalms known as the Hallel (113-118) and the Songs of Ascent (120-134). with its theme being the Word of God. It's the longest chapter in the Bible with 176 verses organized into 22 sections, 8 verses each, with each line in every section starting with the same letter of the Hebrew alphabet. All of this makes the poetry of Psalm 119 offer a full, holistic view of the blessing and treasure of God's Word.

At the same time, Psalm 119 points us to Jesus, the Blessed Man, who alone is the only one who has ever perfectly lived out the precepts and statutes of God's Word, who alone died in our place and rose from the dead, who alone offers fullness of life and eternal life to those who repent and believe, and who alone calls us to follow him by walking in the Word.

Join us in this journey through Psalm 119 as we allow each section to wash over us like waves of the ocean, week by week, while we walk in the word on this pilgrim's journey to be with the Lord.

Reading Plan

2024 Reading Plan

This year, we have a new Bible reading plan that offers several ways to help you stay in God's word regularly each day. You can read through the whole Bible (or parts of the Bible) in one year by reading a few chapters for 12-15 minutes a day. Or, you can walk more slowly through Scripture by reading and studying our Book of the Month.
