Jesus is ultimately the head of the church, the body of Christ (Ephesians 5:23). Paul said in Ephesians 4:4-6, “There is ONE body and ONE Spirit-just as you were called to ONE hope that belongs to your call-ONE Lord, ONE faith, ONE baptism, ONE God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.” At the same time, God also blessed the church with Godly men and women to serve the church in specific roles according to his word. Those roles in the Bible are Elders and Deacons.
Elders are the servant leaders of the church leading through prayer and the ministry of the Word.
Deacons are the leading servants of the church serving in the areas of great need.
